Ms. MyFi Does It Again!
This month’s featured mentor is Tonya Compton, MyFi Coach.
Q: What is your favorite healthy snack(s) and why?
A: My favorite healthy snack is an orange. It is just big enough to fill me up but not leave me stuffed. Also I have more energy after I consume it, not to mention the sweetness of it.
Q: What is your favorite sport or physical activity and why?
A: My favorite sport is tennis, because you have to stay light on your feet constantly to be prepared for the ball. You never know where it is going to go! I played my senior year in high school and received an award for most improved girl. Awesome sport!
Q: What is your biggest fitness accomplishment?
A: My biggest fitness accomplishment occurred when I was taking gymnastic classes. I was the heaviest girl in my class, and we had a competition of who could hold a hand-stand the longest. Not only did I outlast ALL of my classmates, I beat our instructor as well!
Q: What is your favorite thing about working with MyFi kids?
A: My favorite thing about working with MyFi kids is introducing something new to them and observing their reactions which go from, "Awe man, I don't want to do this" to "Ms. MyFi, can we do it again!" I try to teach them not to knock something new before they try it. I tell them it will open so many doors and offer a plethora of opportunities in their future.
Q: What has been your favorite MyFi memory so far?
A: My favorite MyFi memory so far, was when we took the MyFi members to an NBA game to see the Dallas Mavericks. The kids had the time of their lives just being there. The fact that we beat the San Antonio Spurs in overtime was just icing on the cake!
